About
About the Author
I'm a writer working on a popular science book memoir. Tiger Farm Press is the name under which I publish my content on the internet. I started Tiger Farm Press August, 2012.
I'm a Canadian expat working in California, located 50 miles east of San Francisco in the Central Valley.
I used to write computer training material, presentations, technical documents, sample programs and applications. I've retired from that. Not retired, working from home in computer support for an internet communication company called Twilio. For example, they're a gateway that allows computer applications to send SMS messages such as airline flight notifications.

A writer from the online Wired Magazine wrote an article about my Netscape recruitment YouTube video. I had converted a VHS tape to a digital format and uploaded it to my YouTube account. It's representative of that time, the late 1990's.
- Every once in a while I write a blog. Doesn't seem like enough people reading them for me to do it regularly.
- Twilio blogs, my work articles. I don't write them anymore.
I Love to Travel
I've been to most places I want to go, and I've been to many places I never expected to go.
It's been an adventure.
Here is a map of places I've traveled for work and pleasure:
Countries: Canada, US, Mexico, England, France, Spain, Italy, India, Japan, China,
Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia.
My Hobbies
- I collect books. Not a lot of books, a library of about 200. I suppose some people will find that a lot of books, others, not so many.
One book is from the 1600's, few from the 1700's, a number from the 1800's, 1900's, and recent books.
I really like nice leather copies such as Barnes & Nobles classics: Dracula, Dune, and my favorite science fiction, Foundations. - I do a bit of book bindery work: repair books, rebuild book spines, and restore books. Since I prefer to read a good book more than once, rather than read a so-so book, I've converted a few paperback books to hardcover. This makes the book more durable and better to hold while reading.
- I've done electronic projects, though I'm winding down this hobby. I'll likely continue doing more on my Altair 8800 computer project. It's fun and challenging. A lot of people are into retro computers.
- I used to work on my classic Camaros. I have since sold them and now mostly drive a 2013 Tesla S, a California car. I did fix the high power logic controller. That was an interesting challenge. I studied the various electronics and electrical of the car while working through the fix.
